Diesel Mechanic
Location: Peek Pavement Marking, 186 Ben Abi Road, Spartanburg, SC 29306
Pay
Starting hourly pay: $30.00 to $40.00. Additional pay includes overtime, quarterly safety bonuses, CDL license bonuses, and an end-of-year bonus.

Responsibilities
- Performs inspections and safety checks, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, engine, A/C, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems
- Diagnose failures, remove and replace parts, and repair mechanical and electrical issues
- Repair pneumatic air systems including compressors, control valves, air braking systems, and dryers
- Service gasoline and diesel engines, fuel systems, and perform diagnostics
- Repair driveline components, axles, bearings, driveshafts, and hubs
- Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and carry out repairs
- Review and complete repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
- Perform scheduled maintenance
- Respond to occasional service calls for production breakdowns
- Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a heavy equipment/diesel shop maintenance role
- Vocational training preferred
- Broad knowledge of industry safety practices
- Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills
- Good interpersonal skills and team orientation
- Experience with Diesel Laptops, email, and smartphones
- Time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work productively with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and standard practices of diesel equipment mechanical work
- Knowledge of operating and maintenance requirements of various types of diesel equipment
- Skill in the use of tools and equipment for repair and maintenance of heavy equipment
- Ability to work in internal/external environments, including harsh weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; Class A or B preferred
- Must pass a DOT physical and drug screen
Schedule
8+ hour workdays / 40+ hour workweeks, including nights and weekends as needed.
