Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance and servicing of heavy equipment, fleet vehicles, and trailers, including oil changes, brake inspections, and general repairs.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Repair and maintain engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, steering, pumps, hoses, belts, bearings, and seals.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure equipment complies with company, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
- Communicate equipment issues, repair needs, and parts requirements to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and urgent repair needs, including overtime or weekends as required.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a general mechanic working with heavy equipment.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and mechanical components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, crouch, or kneel for extended periods.
