Diesel Mechanic

MPS Group, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join our team at the Cleveland Cliffs Facility in Middletown, OH. This role involves maintaining, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of fleet vehicles and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.

Schedule

1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair wash trucks, vacuum trucks, vans, trucks, water blasters, Lulls, forklifts, scissor lifts, and related equipment.
• Perform DOT annual inspections.
• Complete preventative maintenance, including oil changes, transmission services, tire replacements, and routine inspections.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency repair needs.
• Maintain accurate records within the fleet management system.
• Perform welding as needed.
• Utilize diagnostic scanners and tools for troubleshooting.
• Minimal travel required.
• Flexibility to support after-hours call-outs and emergency situations.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of diesel mechanic experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and mechanical systems.
• Valid OSHA 10-Hour Certification.
• Experience performing DOT inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Familiarity with diagnostic scanners and electronic troubleshooting tools.
• Flexible schedule, including overtime, callouts, and emergency repairs.
• Strong attendance, punctuality, and reliability.
