Diesel Mechanic

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain our fleet of diesel-powered buses. The ideal candidate is a skilled technician who takes pride in keeping vehicles safe, reliable, and road-ready, ensuring our drivers and passengers get where they need to go without interruption. Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on diesel engines and coach-related components of over-the-road busesDiagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issuesRepair or replace defective parts, including engines, transmissions, and brakesMaintain accurate records of all service work performedFollow all safety procedures and company protocolsCommunicate clearly with drivers, dispatch, and the maintenance manager regarding vehicle status and repair timelinesStay up to date on the latest diesel engine technologies and repair techniques Qualifications: 2+ years of professional experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably on buses, trucks, or heavy-duty vehiclesOwn your own basic shop tools - specialty and shop tools providedValid driver's license with a clean driving recordMust be able to obtain a CDL – we’ll help cover the costMust be able to do shift work – including evenings, weekends, and holidaysPhysically able to lift up to 75 lbs, work in confined spaces, stand for long periods, and work under vehiclesASE certifications preferred Benefits: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company-matched contributionsCompany-sponsored life insurance Paid vacation, holidays, and sick daysFree travel on Greyhound Company-provided uniformsUnion membership & representationCareer Advancement Opportunities Compensation Range: USD $33.81 - USD $33.81 /Hr.
