Diesel Mechanic

About the role

Diesel Mechanic position located in Cantonment, FL. Will be making repairs to fleet vehicles and yard equipment, including (but not limited to) repairing engines, alignments, suspension, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems, rear ends, drum rollers, brakes, drive lines, framework. Performing routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery, inspecting/repairing brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other vital parts to ensure proper operating condition. Filling out and submitting all required documents in an accurate and timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and repairs vehicles with diesel engines
• Handles routine repairs, including oil and tire changes
• Interprets diagnostic test results accurately
• Writes detailed inspection reports and repair plans
• Hires, trains, and manages a team of trainees
• Collaborates with other diesel mechanics
• Presents reports and plans to clients for approval
• Advises clients on repair options and costs
• Completes test drives to make sure the vehicle runs correctly
• Uses power, machine, and hand tools safely
• Follows all motor vehicle repair shop regulations and standards

Pay

$22 - $28 per hour
