Diesel Mechanic

About the role

This position involves routine and preventive maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of various types of vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups on company vehicles, ambulances, heavy equipment, trailers, and other motor vehicles.
  • Accurately diagnoses and repairs or replaces parts and systems necessary for the proper functioning of vehicles or equipment, such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts.
  • Performs necessary testing and diagnostic assessments on parts, systems, and vehicles to ensure proper functioning.
  • Ensures maintenance and repair schedules and production plans support the urgency of operational needs and resource deployment plans.
  • Deploys to unit/vehicle locations when necessary and feasible to mitigate unit downtime.
  • Accurately maintains vehicle repair and maintenance records.
  • Conducts self in an ethical, professional manner; projects a positive self/company/system image.
  • Adheres to and enforces all safety standards and organizational policies.
  • Adheres to and enforces all vehicle use and emergency vehicle operation standards and policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational/Technical school program or apprenticeship in auto repair or related field required.
  • ASE certifications.
  • Two years of related experience with Ford and Chevy diesel engine diagnosis and repair preferred.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen, safety-sensitive position.
  • Must have a valid Oklahoma driver’s license.

  • Knowledge of service and repair manuals.
