Egan Company is seeking candidates for a Diesel Mechanic role focused on heavy diesel and large truck repairs. This position involves both on-site garage work and field assignments, including jobsite visits, mobile truck service, and roadside repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and diagnose issues on vehicles and equipment, including:
    • Construction Equipment
    • Earth Moving Equipment
    • Bucket Trucks
    • Digger Derrick
    • Trailers
    • Brake Systems
    • Hydraulic Systems
    • Engine Components
    • Drive Train Components
    • Body Components
    • Electrical Systems
  • Weld and fabricate components as needed.
  • Perform medium/heavy truck driving and rigging, including vehicles over 26,000 GVW.
  • Test-operate line trucks, auger trucks, and trenchers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Two-year degree or certificate for truck repair from an accredited technical school program (required; work experience may substitute).
  • At least three years of experience performing maintenance and repairs on diesel/medium-heavy trucks and equipment (highly preferred).
  • Must provide typical mechanic hand tools with toolbox.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a CDL (Commercial Driver’s License).
  • Must pass a DOT physical, drug screening, MVR, and background check as a condition of employment.

Qualifications

  • Mobile truck experience.
  • Experience with heavy diesel and large truck repairs.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in computers and standard office software, including Google Suite.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Team player willing to assist others as needed.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to anticipate operational changes and react appropriately.

Working Conditions

  • Approximately 60% of duties performed in the garage.
  • Approximately 40% of duties performed outside the garage, including field assignments.

Pay

Hourly rate: $32.00 - $41.00 (based on experience, education, and/or skill set), plus potential annual discretionary bonus.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
