DIESEL MECHANIC

About the Role

Come join our team as a diesel mechanic! You will perform complex operations including engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs on large commercial vehicles. Following OEM and other standards, you will conduct thorough preventive maintenance inspections, along with roadside and emergency service repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough, accurate preventative maintenance inspections.
• Complete scheduled maintenance operations, including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation.
• Perform unscheduled maintenance as directed by the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor.
• Conduct complex repairs on engines, electrical systems, fuel systems, brakes, and exhausts, including field tests, using technical materials such as drawings and specifications.
• Provide emergency roadside services as needed.
• Inspect equipment and diagnose mechanical defects.
• Document repairs and parts on work orders accurately and completely.
• Maintain tools and workplaces in a neat and orderly condition.
• Handle on-call service calls, extended hours, or weekend work during emergencies.
• Occasionally drive vans, buses, and vehicles for road tests.

Qualifications

• 1+ year(s) experience as a diesel mechanic or mechanic preferred.
• Accreditation from a school or certification program preferred.
• Complete all required training.
• Pass pre-employment screenings, including a background check.

Pay

Pay Range: $23-$25 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week.

Location

1825 State Route 31, Port Byron, NY 13140.
