Diesel Mechanic

Join our Best-One of Indy Team! Best-One Tire & Service is looking for a Diesel Mechanic with an emphasis on shop-based repair and on-the-road service.

Pay

Starting at $25/hr. and up based upon experience. Additional compensation for after-hours roadside service.

Responsibilities

• Perform engine diagnostics and repair
• Conduct brake inspections and repair
• Perform alignments and steering repair
• Repair suspension systems
• Provide preventative maintenance services
• Welding and fabrication
• Conduct fleet inspections and provide recommendations
• Operate heavy-duty service trucks and associated tools for roadside repairs
• Perform emergency roadside repairs for disabled commercial trucks and trailers
• Work on-site at customer locations in all weather conditions
• Complete DOT-compliant fleet inspections
• Maintain company vehicles to D.O.T. standards
• Document services performed and communicate fleet needs to sales and service team
• Safely raise and lower vehicles using hydraulic or floor jacks
• Operate all shop machinery, including diagnostic computers, floor jacks or lifts, air-powered tools, torque wrench, welder, and cutting torch
• Maintain and operate diagnostic equipment

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be at least 21 years old
