Pay

Competitive pay range: $25.00 – $45.00, depending on experience.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• Stable, predictable hours with the option for overtime when available
• No rotating shifts

Work Environment

Location: Chester, VA. Primary work environment is an indoor service and maintenance shop, with occasional field or outdoor work as needed. The shop is clean, compliant, and efficient, emphasizing employee satisfaction.

Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing. Workers are exposed to typical shop conditions such as noise, odors, grease, and occasional outdoor weather.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, suspension, and air systems
• Troubleshoot and repair wiring, controls, sensors, pumps, valves, cylinders, and hydraulic components
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on fire trucks and ambulances
• Accurately document repairs, labor time, and parts usage
• Complete safety inspections and ensure vehicles are ready for service
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow OSHA and company safety standards
• Assist other technicians as needed and work collaboratively as part of a team

Requirements

• Diesel mechanic experience with strong electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills, preferably on heavy‑duty trucks or equipment
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to pass pre‑employment screening
