About the role
Full-time diesel mechanic position based in Artesia, NM, working in a shop that services oilfield equipment, tractors, and trailers.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, repair, and complete maintenance on tractors and trailers to ensure compliance with DOT/FMCSA standards.
- Perform annual inspections on equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and inspection reports.
- Keep the shop clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Work closely with operations to maximize fleet uptime.
Requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of diesel mechanics, including D.E.F and SCR systems, sensors, and injectors.
- Engine and fuel diagnostics (E.S.A and Cummins).
- Engine, transmission, and chassis repair.
- Tanker trailer, Roper pump, and hydraulic system repair.
- Air system diagnostic and repair.
- Understanding of Federal and State DOT Regulations, especially the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
Skills
- Strong organizational skills with ability to direct and achieve priorities, goals, and strategies with limited supervision.
- Documentation and communication skills.
- Basic computer literacy for a paperless facility.
Qualifications
- Preferred: 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience.
- Experience with Kenworth equipment is a plus.
- Certifications are a plus.
