Diesel Mechanic A

Reyes Fleet Management is seeking a Diesel Mechanic A to help with repairs and maintenance on trailer/tractor equipment at our fleet shop in Caledonia, MI.

Schedule

Full-Time, 3rd Shift (10:00 PM – 6:30 AM), Sunday–Thursday

Pay

$32.50/hour + $0.20 shift differential = $32.70/hour. Additional $1.00/hour CDL Incentive Pay for active CDL A license holders.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, rebuild and repair fleet equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units, and related parts).
• Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system.
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electric problems utilizing diagnostic technology/software when applicable.
• Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal policies and regulations including DOT, OSHA, and Reyes Fleet Management standards, while ensuring compliance with safety programs, correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practices.
• Maintain a current driver qualification file as required by DOT, including annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last three years. CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and are subject to a FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
• Some travel may be required.
• Other projects or duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED with 3+ years of related experience).
• Must possess own tools.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations.
• Valid CDL (License A) is highly desired; mandatory in some locations.
• Ability to frequently lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 50 pounds, occasionally lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 100 pounds.
