Diesel Mechanic - $3000 Sign On Bonus; 1pm Start - Louisville, KY

About the role

The role is available to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers. As a Diesel Mechanic at WM, you will be responsible for fixing trucks and equipment that serve over 20 million customers across the USA.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
• Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
• Perform your work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
• Assist senior Mechanics in the completion of project work.
• Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

Requirements

• 2 years of relevant work experience.
• A valid drivers license, with a clean driving record.
• Be over 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Qualifications

• High School/GED education.

Pay

Starting salary of $30-$33.75 per hour depending on experience.

Schedule

Monday – Friday every week, Shift starts at 3:00 pm, No weekends.

Location

The normal setting for this job is a repair / maintenance shop at our Louisville, KY hauling site.
