Responsibilities
- Adhere to and enforce WyoTech policies and procedures as stated in the Employee Handbook.
- Advise students on attendance, grades, professionalism, and personal problems to ensure completion of their career program.
- Submit grades, tests, attendance, and all other required materials.
- Plan class instruction based on the syllabus and ensure learning objectives are met while maintaining ethical and legal standards.
- Utilize the CANVAS LMS system.
- Support EPA and safety procedures, encouraging students to follow safety precautions.
- Maintain and repair class equipment and tool inventory; secure your area.
- Attend scheduled instructor meetings, graduation, and registration.
- Participate in curriculum and professional development.
- Communicate effectively with all WyoTech faculty and staff.
- Encourage motivation and enthusiasm in the shop and classroom; develop a professional rapport with students.
- Prepare adequately for class and shop prior to start time, including supplemental teaching materials.
- Provide appropriate information, resources, and assignments for lessons; offer peer tutoring as needed.
- Monitor and maintain control of the class during lessons and shop activities.
- Follow ADA requirements.
- Be available for students 15 minutes before and after scheduled class time.
- Maintain security and confidentiality of all tests and lesson plans.
- Perform other related duties as directed by the department coordinator or assistant coordinator.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in the diesel industry as an experienced technician, including work on medium/heavy duty trucks, off-highway equipment, or other industrial applications requiring skills in:
- Diesel engines
- Emissions
- Hydraulics
- Chassis
- Transmissions
- A/C
- Transport refrigeration
- Electrical and electronic systems
- CNG and LNG systems
- Drivability diagnostics
- EV experience
- Positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment.
- Proficiency in computer use; ability to adapt to software used in an educational environment.

Pay
$62,500.00 - $90,000.00 annually, dependent on experience.
Location
This position is based at the WyoTech campus in Laramie, WY. Laramie offers small-town charm with access to outdoor activities such as snowmobiling, fishing, mountain climbing, and biking in nearby Snowy Range and Vedauwoo National Forest. The community is known for its strong local engagement, earning the nickname "Laradise."
