About the role
Service technicians at Champlain Valley Equipment diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul machinery and equipment such as farming, forestry, and light construction equipment. As a representative of the company, you embody our brand and interact directly with customers.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, and overhaul farm machinery, forestry equipment, and/or light construction equipment.
- Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, test operation, and adjust as necessary.
- Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, and confer with customers to locate and diagnose malfunctions.
- Dismantle defective machines for repair using tools.
- Test and replace electrical components and wiring using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools.
- Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, torches, welding equipment, grinders, or saws.
- Clean and lubricate parts.
- Tune or overhaul engines.
- Assemble and inspect new equipment.
- Record details of repairs made and parts used.
- Drive trucks to haul tools and equipment for on-site repair of large machinery.
Requirements
- Communication skills
- Computer skills and electronic service tool knowledge
- Own tools
Schedule
Dealership hours are 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday and 8:00 AM to noon on most Saturdays.
