Responsibilities
- Perform routine and non-routine maintenance activities with increased complexity.
- Complete Work Orders, order parts, and other maintenance documentation.
- Repair, install, fabricate, rebuild, troubleshoot, and perform preventative maintenance on process equipment such as pumps, conveyors, dryers, gearboxes, filters, etc.
- Capable of performing equipment lubrication.
- Competent in mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, welding, bearings, basic metallurgy, conveyor systems, plumbing, alignment, machine shop, blueprints, schematics, and mobile equipment.
- Qualified to operate small and large cranes and adhere to safe rigging practices.
- Follow and understand MSHA and/or OSHA rules and regulations, Environmental rules and regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and work area instructions.
- Participate in safety and environmental activities.
- Use plant and equipment correctly at all times.
- Aid in training employees in the mechanical maintenance area.
- Assist with additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Four (4) years' experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts (including welder, boilermaker, machinist or facility maintenance/construction).
- Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists).
- Demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and technical skills while passing a written assessment where required.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.

What You Bring To Freeport
- Four (4) years’ experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts (including welder, boilermaker, machinist or facility maintenance/construction).
- Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required mechanical aptitude.
- The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and technical skills while also passing a written assessment where required.
- This exam is based on technical skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge, as well as safety.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
