Responsibilities
- Diagnoses and repairs complex coach problems.
- Inspects, assists, and monitors Mechanics B and C’s work.
- Ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Supports retrofit campaign completions.
- Trains and participates in meetings.
- Performs preventative maintenance inspections.
- Completes work orders specifying parts and labor.
- Tests coaches for proper working order.
- Utilizes diagnostic equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical functions.
- Maintains detailed paperwork and documentation for repairs and installations.
- Repairs, maintains, and troubleshoots electrical buses.
- Repairs, maintains, and troubleshoots multiplexing systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid South Carolina CDL.
- Five (5) years progressive heavy equipment maintenance experience.
- Two (2) years technical degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Hands-on experience in electrical, mechanical, or related fields.
- Experience with complex diagnostic computer equipment and software.
- In-depth understanding of ADA equipment, air conditioning, brakes, chassis, cooling system, engine, interior/exterior lighting, gauges and controls, safety equipment, fire suppression, system and sensitive edges, tires and transmission.
