Diener/Prep Technician | Pathology Lab | Full-time | Days

Responsibilities

• Report directly to the supervisor of the assigned area.
• Provide autopsy services as directed by the case attending pathologist.
• Absorb and assist with the autopsy procedure, maintaining equipment and stocking supplies used in Morgue and Gross Room.
• Ordering, accessioning, specimen processing, and test preparation functions.
• Prioritize duties to maximize efficiency.
• Dispose of waste specimens and chemicals.
• Provide excellent customer service with lab employees, other hospital departments, and external customers.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, with an Associate's Degree preferred.
• Necessary Skills: Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all members of the healthcare team. Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care.
• Experience: 1-2 years of experience performing autopsies, with 2 years of experience preferred.
• Licensure/Certifications: None required.
