Die Maker 3rd Shift

Description

The Die Maker - 3rd Shift role at Smurfit Westrock involves preparing electronic die files, operating Gerber and Vacuum Press, and assisting the lead die maker in various tasks within the die shop. Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare electronic die files for Gerber.
• Operate Gerber and Vacuum Press to produce die boards, strippers, and waste separators.
• Prepare die and strippers before sending to die maker.
• Inventory supplies and notify Team Leader when supplies are needed.
• Rule and rubber dies.
• Assemble strippers.
• Pull and inspect die strikes to send to design.
• Ensure the overall safety and cleanliness of equipment and area.
• Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Perform overtime as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications include:

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Basic mathematical skills and reasoning abilities.
• Effective communication skills, particularly with Project Coordinators, Engineers, Model Shop, and Customers.
• Ability to react quickly and adjust to ensure top quality products.

Qualifications

To qualify, candidates must:

• Have previous knowledge of quality systems or permanent displays experience.
• Be proficient in math and computer skills.
• Be able to communicate effectively with team members and customers.
• Pass a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer.
