Responsibilities
- Work from sketches, prints, models, or verbal instruction
- Utilize sophisticated metal and plastic working equipment
- Reproduce, fabricate, or modify tooling, fixtures, gauges, existing parts or products as assigned
- Lay out work in the most cost-effective manner from the information available
- Work in a team-based environment
Requirements
- Attention to detail
- Working knowledge of various materials including stainless steel, titanium, Zimaloy, UHMPWE plastic, ceramics, cold and hot rolled steel, brass, tool steels, aluminum, rubber, and castings
- Good working knowledge of CNC equipment as well as conventional metal cutting, grinding, and plastic working equipment
- Experience in tool making, either through completion of the Zimmer Biomet Aspire Tool & Die Trainee program, a Tool & Die degree (Associates) with 3 years of relevant experience, or a four-year approved Tool & Die Apprenticeship Program
Qualifications
Must have completed the Zimmer Biomet Aspire Tool & Die Trainee program, a Tool & Die degree (Associates) with 3 years of relevant tool making experience, or 6 years of hands-on toolmaking experience.
