Die Cast/Equipment Technician

Job Summary

The Die Cast/ Equipment Technician Trainee is part of the Maintenance team. This role will work alongside an experienced Die Cast/Equipment Technician to learn how to repair and maintain all equipment in the Assembly, Heavy Duty or Controls tooling area. Will learn how to assist cell leaders when set-ups or problems occur. In addition to assigned job functions, must follow department policies & procedures and all Company safety procedures and practices.

Essential Functions

• Training on how to maintains die cast machines and other department equipment
• Learns how to assist cell leaders with set-ups and retrieving parts
• Performs duties in the safest and most efficient manner possible
• Responsible for the safe operation of company equipment
• Works respectfully with other team members
• Performs other duties as deemed necessary or assigned

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED or the equivalent combination of education and experience
• Prior experience working with manufacturing machinery
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Special Position Requirements

• Working near moving mechanical parts, fumes, and/or airborne particles can be expected frequently
• Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock and adverse weather can be expected occasionally
• Physical Demands/ Equipment Used To Perform The Job: Manual labor job in a manufacturing environment, Temperature fluctuations on production floor, Must be able to lift/carry heavy objects up to 100 pounds, Standing for long periods of time; climbing , walking, Hand dexterity, Ability to operate departmental equipment
