Dialysis Technician II - Neuro Expansion

About the role

This position provides specialized support for Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) treatments for critically ill patients in the ICU and throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and package dialysate solutions and baths
• Perform bacteriological sampling of dialysis equipment and related systems
• Maintain treatment supplies
• Ensure equipment functions properly
• Assist with clinical research projects
• Monitor and chart the central water system

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Certified by the current State as a Certified Dialysis Technician (CDT) and maintain current certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• Two years of prior Intermittent Hemodialysis (IHD) experience

Qualifications

• Prior experience in Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and Peritoneal Dialysis (PD)
• Two years of outpatient experience

Skills

• Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient
• Manual and finger dexterity
• Eye-hand coordination to perform dialysis procedures
• Corrected vision and hearing to normal range
• Working under stressful conditions and irregular hours
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids on a daily basis
• Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly

Pay

Minimum hourly: $18.88
Maximum hourly: $28.80
