Dialysis Technician (CCHT)
Position Overview
The Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) in the Dialysis Clinic is responsible for direct patient care, including patient scheduling, performing and monitoring vitals, dialysis machine set up, monitoring the patient during treatment, responding to alarms, etc.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care, including comprehensive management of patient treatment from initiation to completion, and oversees daily tasks between patients and dialysis machines.
- Performs essential water room testing duties including the opening and closing procedures for the unit and water room.
- Responds to machine alarms following established protocols.
- Supports patient discharge and transfer processes as directed by the RN, including gathering patient belongings and facilitating their transportation.
- Conducts dialysis-related laboratory procedures and quality control measures, including specimen collection, Hemoccult testing, blood sugar testing, completing laboratory request forms, and accurately labeling collected specimens.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED/HSE preferred.
- Active Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician Certificate (CCHT) required.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred.
