Job Title

Job Overview/Summary

The Dialysis Technician operates and maintains dialysis machines, monitors patients during treatments, and ensures quality and safety. They also support the team with various tasks and provide training.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hemodialysis treatments, including preparation, supply gathering, care organization, documentation, and reporting abnormal findings.
  • Aid in daily department operations, prepare dialysis set-ups, perform safety checks, and clean machines between patients.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, manage resources, communicate with the healthcare team and patients, and perform quality control monitoring.
  • Precept and train new Dialysis Technicians, perform preventive maintenance, minor repairs, report unsafe conditions, and assist with machine repairs.
  • Respond to emergencies, adhere to patient safety goals, protect confidential information, and follow organizational policies.
  • Perform clerical duties, assist with scheduling, enter charges, maintain paperwork, and manage inventory levels.

Primary Skills

  • Hemodialysis treatment procedures

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 0–1 years of Nephrology experience including Hemodialysis (HD) preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and patient safety
