About the role
DaVita is seeking a Dialysis Tech (PCT) to serve patients at our Canal Winchester Dialysis Center in Canal Winchester, OH. Paid training provided!
Shift Hours
- MWF: 5a-5, 5a-3p, 3-9p
- TTS: 5-3p and 5-4p (with potential for hours to shift dependent upon patient census)
Training
Paid training: DaVita offers a robust, paid training program to help you learn the right dialysis skills. The training is a mix of classroom and hands-on training. Reimbursement for CHT license.
Requirements
- Dependable, amazing work ethic, looking for a challenge, handling stressful situations, looking for longevity, comfortable with early shifts and long hours on your feet, and enjoying a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable transportation and willing to work at other clinics within the sub-region to help when needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Comfortable working around blood and needles.
- Comfortable mixing acid or bicarb.
- Flexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet so wear comfortable shoes!
- Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
- Health care experience preferred including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.
What You Can Expect
- Direct Patient Care: Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment.
- Technician Duties: In the morning, the opening PCT is coming in to get the water room ready and the bicarb for the patients. They are testing the water for chlorine, checking to make sure the tools are calibrated. There are a lot of duties in the morning. To monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup. Exposure to blood and needles.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift minimum of 5 pounds to a maximum of 50 pounds unassisted; able to perform repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stretching, reaching, and use full range of body motions; ability to interact in person and by phone clearly and efficiently; ability to use computer and all peripherals as needed to meet goals.
Continuous Improvement
We are consistently looking for ways to improve processes for our patients and teammates as we aim to build the greatest health care community the world has ever seen. Building long-term relationships with your patients who are suffering from end stage renal disease and are receiving treatment on average 3 times/week. You will also be responsible for educating patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.
Team
Cross-functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers and leadership. PCTs work under the supervision of a RN.
Schedule
Shifts can begin as early as 4:00 am and can vary based on patient needs. Your expected shift will be shared during the interview process.
