Dialysis Registered Nurse - Dialysis

Responsibilities

  • Provide dialysis treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Administers prescribed medications while patients are on dialysis in a safe manner and documents in EHR according to state and CDC guidelines.
  • Regularly check and record patients' vital signs before, during, and after dialysis sessions.
  • Monitor for any adverse reactions and take appropriate action.
  • Educate patients and their families about kidney disease, dialysis procedures, and lifestyle modifications to manage their condition.
  • Prepare and maintain dialysis machines and equipment, ensuring they are in proper working order and sterile.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and any changes in condition.
  • Cook up with dietitians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care tailored to each patient's needs.
  • Offer emotional support to patients and their families, helping them cope with the challenges of chronic kidney disease.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, infection control protocols, and healthcare standards, including those specific to the tribal community.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Experience in dialysis care and patient education.
  • Knowledge of infection control and safety regulations relevant to the tribal community.
