Responsibilities
- Provide dialysis treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Administers prescribed medications while patients are on dialysis in a safe manner and documents in EHR according to state and CDC guidelines.
- Regularly check and record patients' vital signs before, during, and after dialysis sessions.
- Monitor for any adverse reactions and take appropriate action.
- Educate patients and their families about kidney disease, dialysis procedures, and lifestyle modifications to manage their condition.
- Prepare and maintain dialysis machines and equipment, ensuring they are in proper working order and sterile.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and any changes in condition.
- Cook up with dietitians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care tailored to each patient's needs.
- Offer emotional support to patients and their families, helping them cope with the challenges of chronic kidney disease.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, infection control protocols, and healthcare standards, including those specific to the tribal community.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Experience in dialysis care and patient education.
- Knowledge of infection control and safety regulations relevant to the tribal community.
