Diagnostic Technician

Base salary of up to £XXk plus an additional efficiency bonus. £1500 sign-on bonus: £750 upon joining, £250 once accredited, and £500 after 12 months employment. Additional £91 per month salary uplift for MOT qualified technicians.

About the role

As a Diagnostic Technician, you'll be a key member of our workshop team, diagnosing and repairing complex vehicle faults while supporting colleagues with technical expertise. You will help fellow technicians with technical guidance, use specialist tools to diagnose and repair faults, and work closely with Service Advisors and workshop teams to explain vehicle issues and plan maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, and repair vehicles to manufacturer standards.
• Deliver high-quality repairs and first-time fixes.
• Complete vehicle health checks and identify additional customer needs.
• Support and coach fellow technicians with technical guidance.
• Work closely with Service Advisors and workshop teams.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
• Continue developing your skills through ongoing technical and EV training.
• Carry out MOT testing (where qualified).

Requirements

• NVQ/IMI or City & Guilds Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Technology (or equivalent).
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding experience.
• A commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
• A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues.
• Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and manufacturer systems.
