About the role
This position is full time, days. The shift is 8am-5:30pm, at Riley Hospital for Children.
Responsibilities
- Operates imaging equipment such as x-ray, fluoro, portable x-ray, and fluoroscopy equipment used in surgery.
- Prepares patients by explaining exam and positioning them correctly.
- Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate imaging.
- Follows radiation safety protocols.
- Documents detailed patient history.
- Stays current with continuing education.
- Maintains patient safety during exams.
- Documents necessary information in EMR.
- Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed.
Requirements
- 0-3 years of relevant experience.
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a recent graduate of an approved training program in Radiologic Technology (board eligible).
- If board eligible, must obtain credential in Radiography within 6 months of hire.
- Current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or a current ISDH Radiology Student Permit.
Qualifications
- Graduate or recent graduate of an approved training program in Radiologic Technology.
- Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when necessary.
