Diagnostic Radiology Technologist - PRN

About the role

This is a PRN position requiring 1 shift per month and 1 holiday per year.

Responsibilities

  • Operates imaging equipment such as x-ray, fluoro, portable x-ray, and fluoroscopy equipment used in surgery
  • Prepares patients by explaining exam and positioning them correctly
  • Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate imaging
  • Follows radiation safety protocols
  • Documents detailed patient history
  • Stays current with continuing education
  • Monitors patients during exam for safety
  • Documents necessary information in EMR
  • Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed

Qualifications

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required
  • Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning
  • Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a recent graduate of an approved training program in Radiologic Technology (board eligible). If board eligible, must obtain credential in Radiography within 6 months of hire
  • Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or a current ISDH Radiology Student Permit
