About the role
The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program Director oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the sonography program. They are responsible for ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Oversee curriculum development and ensure alignment with accreditation standards.
- Develop and implement quality assurance programs to maintain program excellence.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and accreditation standards.
- Collaborate with faculty to enhance teaching methods and student learning outcomes.
- Manage program resources and budget effectively.
- Conduct regular program reviews and make necessary adjustments.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to faculty members.
Requirements
- M.D., D.O., or equivalent doctoral degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a clinical setting, including at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of relevant state and federal regulations.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Strong organizational and management skills.
- Experience with accreditation processes and standards.
Qualifications
- Current certification in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from an ABMS-approved organization.
- Experience with educational technology and online learning platforms.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Skills
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with program evaluation and assessment tools.
