Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic mammography procedures, assisting with biopsies and other diagnostic interventions
- Provide critical diagnostic information to physicians
- Evaluate, synthesize, and communicate diagnostic information to the attending physician
- Ensure the patient’s comfort and safety during and after the mammography procedure
- Maintain patient records and add medical notes related to the diagnostic mammography procedure
- Perform equipment maintenance and sterilization to maintain the mammography machine in optimal condition
- Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and ensuring patient comfort
- Participate in quality assurance procedures to maintain high standards of practice
- Stay informed about the latest developments and trends in diagnostic mammography
- Utilize Epic electronic medical records (EMR) system for patient documentation and record-keeping
Qualifications
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology
- Certification: Advanced training and experience in mammography, with a strong understanding of breast anatomy and pathology
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Mammography Technologist
- Additional Training: Additional training in diagnostic mammography
- Skills: Strong understanding of breast anatomy and pathology, excellent technical abilities and attention to detail, compassionate bedside manner and strong communication skills, ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals
Special Qualifications
- Knowledge: Knowledge of Mammography procedures and standards
- Preferred Qualifications: Compassionate bedside manner and strong communication skills, ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, familiarity with Epic electronic medical records (EMR) systems, continuing education in diagnostic mammography and related fields
