Diagnostic Imaging Veterinary Technician
Position Overview
The Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging Technician is responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images using digital radiography and computed tomography (CT). This position requires strong technical skills, advanced patient monitoring abilities, and the capability to adapt quickly to the needs of both routine and critical cases.
Essential Responsibilities
- Obtain high-quality diagnostic images utilizing digital radiography and CT equipment
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of animal anatomy to ensure accurate patient positioning
- Complete imaging requests for multiple specialty and emergency departments
- Calculate and administer medications as directed
- Perform anesthetic induction and endotracheal intubation
- Maintain imaging equipment, quality assurance records, and departmental logs
- Collaborate closely with specialists, emergency clinicians, and support staff to provide exceptional patient care
- Respond appropriately to changing patient conditions and medical emergencies
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of recent veterinary technician experience, preferably with diagnostic imaging responsibilities
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT) preferred
- Veterinary Technician Specialty (VTS) in Diagnostic Imaging highly desirable
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Strong understanding of veterinary medicine and patient care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment

Compensation
Compensation ranges from $20–$28 per hour and is determined based on relevant experience, formal education, certifications, and overall qualifications.
