Diagnostic Imaging Assistant

Principle Responsibilities

• Serves as link between physicians, clinics and service departments
• Enters orders and schedules exams as needed
• Communicates physician requests to appropriate department staff
• Captures workflow with Clinics, service departments and physicians
• Prioritizes customer needs
• Provides information regarding special instructions, exam preps, arrival times or special needs
• Keeps leadership advised of any issues or concerns
• Assists Technologist in delivering patient care
• Screens patients for exam
• Delivers necessary imaging supplies
• Transports, transfers and positions patient
• Distributes completed exam to radiologist for interpretation
• Restocks and prepares exam room for procedures
• Provides image and data management
• Ensures secure and appropriate access of patient information
• Documents image data release in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Demonstrates knowledge of the electronic storage and retrieval system (EMI)

Required Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous patient care experience
• Medical terminology

Licenses/Certifications

• BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required by completion of orientation within 30 Days

Physical Demands

• Medium Work*: Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently.

Shifts

• 8-hour day/evening shifts
• Every 4th weekend rotation

Pay Range

Pay Range: $18.78 to $24.36 per hour
