About the Role

The Diagnostic Imaging Assistant promotes a positive patient and family experience as the first impression of the Diagnostic Imaging department by creating a welcoming atmosphere for all patients, families, and providers. This role is responsible for the efficient and orderly registration and check-in of patients and acts as a liaison between patients, families, and hospital staff. Responsibilities include obtaining accurate and complete patient demographic information and required consents, notifying appropriate modalities of the patient's arrival, supporting Children’s departments and clinics in uploading images for future referred patients, and sending images and reports to outside facilities for continuation of care.

Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming atmosphere for patients, families, and providers as the first point of contact in the Diagnostic Imaging department.
  • Efficiently and accurately register and check in patients.
  • Act as a liaison between patients, families, and hospital staff.
  • Obtain accurate and complete patient demographic information and required consents.
  • Notify appropriate modalities of patient arrivals.
  • Support Children’s departments and clinics in uploading images for future referred patients.
  • Send images and reports to outside facilities for continuation of care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of customer service experience required.
  • Previous experience with medical imaging software applications and related staff and vendors preferred.
  • One year of medical office setting experience preferred.
  • Experience in a Diagnostic Imaging setting preferred.

Pay

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries are based on full-time employment (40 standard hours per week) and will be prorated for part-time positions. Individual pay rates consider a wide range of factors, including market indicators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, internal equity, and organizational needs.

Benefits

In addition to salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions requiring night, weekend, or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay. All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of an occupational health assessment, drug screen, background investigation, and compliance with the U.S. Government Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification.
