Diagnostic Imaging - Anesthesia Assistant or Technician

About the role

The Diagnostic Imaging Anesthesia Technician or Assistant works closely with anesthesiologists, anesthesia/surgical staff, radiology staff, and other departments throughout the hospital. The primary responsibility is to provide advanced sedation and anesthetic monitoring care to patients receiving imaging services at Angell Animal Medical Center.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced sedation and anesthetic monitoring care to patients undergoing imaging services
• Work collaboratively with anesthesiologists, anesthesia/surgical staff, radiology staff, and other hospital departments
• Provide guidance, support, and leadership to other technical staff when working in anesthesia
• Take an active role in the continuing education and training of other staff
• Demonstrate kindness and care for animals and respect for clients
• Exercise good financial stewardship to preserve the organization's long-term ability to carry out its non-profit mission

Qualifications

• Strong technical background and knowledge of veterinary medicine
• Excellence in interpersonal communication skills
• Reliable, independent, and able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment
• Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude
• Ability to recognize the importance of conveying knowledge and expertise to others
• Willingness to take an active role in staff education and training

Pay

• Veterinary Assistants: $22–$27/hour
• Certified Veterinary Technicians: $25–$30/hour
• $5,000 Sign-on Bonus for CVTs
• Candidates with additional experience or credentials may be eligible for compensation aligned with their qualifications
