About the role

The Corporate Partnership Development Senior Lead at JerseySTEM plays a crucial role in driving engagement with potential corporate partners, mentoring and guiding more junior leads, and ensuring alignment with JerseySTEM's long-term goals.

Responsibilities

  • Identify critical decision makers within a number of Corporations of the same general market space (Chemical, Civil, Finance, Services, etc.)
  • Present JerseySTEM’s mission and financial requirements to these decision makers
  • Facilitate approval and disbursement of funding from identified Corporations
  • Build and maintain relationships with key Corporate employees
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to Development Leads, fostering a collaborative team environment
  • Develop marketing ideas and concepts for materials and opportunities to promote JerseySTEM to potential donors
  • Communicate progress to DEVT leadership
  • Attend Corporate-related activities involving those organizations they are responsible for
  • Participate in weekly mandatory virtual meetings

Requirements

This is a pro-bono volunteer position. JerseySTEM is a grassroots 501(c) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey. Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda. Membership is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K-12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of Corporate reporting and approval processes
  • Familiarity with a particular market space (e.g., key corporations, industry specific events, industry leaders)
  • Previous outreach or cold calling experience required
  • 5+ years of corporate sales marketing experience, especially B2B experience required
  • Comfort working in a 'virtual organization' with digital tools (G-Suite, Slack, Jira, Salesforce)

  • Resourceful, can-do attitude
  • Experience with Business-to-Business marketing and/or selling
  • Experience with community outreach
  • Not shy on phone or email
  • Flexible schedule to allow for day time calls with school admins during the work week
