DevOps Engineer II
Our client, a leading communications provider, is seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer II to support and maintain cloud-based applications and infrastructure in a production environment. The ideal candidate has experience with AWS, Linux, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and observability, along with a solid understanding of networking and command-line troubleshooting.

This role is well suited for a DevOps engineer who enjoys troubleshooting production environments, working with cloud infrastructure, and helping build and maintain reliable, scalable applications.

Responsibilities
- Support and maintain production applications and infrastructure in AWS
- Work with AWS services including EC2 and EKS
- Support and manage Kubernetes-based application environments
- Perform Linux system administration and command-line troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, and connectivity issues in production environments
- Apply fundamental networking concepts to troubleshoot infrastructure and application connectivity
- Monitor application and infrastructure health using observability, monitoring, and logging tools
- Investigate performance, availability, and production issues and assist with root cause analysis
- Support the deployment, configuration, scaling, and management of applications and infrastructure
- Develop and maintain reusable infrastructure code and automation
- Collaborate with software engineers, infrastructure teams, and other technical teams to improve application reliability and operational efficiency
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive operational and infrastructure tasks
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Systems Engineering, SRE, or a related role
- Hands-on experience with AWS
- Strong Linux experience and command-line troubleshooting skills
- Experience working with AWS EC2
- Experience with Kubernetes and/or AWS EKS
- Understanding of fundamental networking concepts
- Experience troubleshooting application and infrastructure connectivity issues
- Experience with observability, monitoring, and logging in production environments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Skills
Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)
- Proficiency with observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, and/or Datadog
- Hands-on use of Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
- Ability to create reusable infrastructure code and Terraform modules
- Familiarity with Docker and containerized applications
- Supporting Kubernetes workloads in production environments
- Working with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
- Scripting with Python, Bash, or similar languages
- Troubleshooting distributed applications and systems

Pay
The approximate pay range for this position is between $40.00 and $58.00 per hour. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location.
