DevOps Engineer

About the role

PeopleTec is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support the TAPO H47 ER Analytics effort. The candidate will support deployment, automation, configuration, monitoring, reliability, security, and lifecycle management of infrastructure and services supporting Rubix analytical capabilities. The role works with developers, technical leads, security personnel, and infrastructure stakeholders to automate delivery, maintain reliable environments, and improve operational resilience.

This is a hybrid/remote position based in Huntsville, AL. Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain one). Travel is less than 10%.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve CI/CD processes supporting Rubix applications and services.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications and supporting infrastructure.
• Automate build, test, configuration, deployment, and operational workflows.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code for repeatable provisioning.
• Configure source control, branching, code review, and deployment workflows.
• Develop automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, YAML, or comparable tools.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, observability, backup, and recovery capabilities.
• Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, networking, containerization, and deployment issues.
• Support access control, security hardening, vulnerability management, and DevSecOps activities.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, cloud, networking, or DevOps.
• Hands-on CI/CD pipeline implementation/administration experience.
• Docker or comparable containerization experience.
• Kubernetes or comparable orchestration experience.
• Infrastructure as Code experience such as Terraform.
• Git-based source control and development workflow experience.
• Scripting/automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, YAML, or similar.
• Windows and/or Linux administration; cloud infrastructure, networking, access control, monitoring, and troubleshooting experience.
• Associate degree or higher in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant technical experience.
• 8+ years of relevant professional IT/infrastructure experience.

• Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• AWS, GCP, Azure, or government cloud experience.
• Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, SolarWinds, or comparable observability tools.
• VMware/Hyper-V, disaster recovery, and high-availability architecture.
• DevSecOps and vulnerability management.
• Microservices-based application support.
• Government/DoD environment experience.
• Security+ or other applicable cybersecurity certification.
