About the role
Mach Industries is a defense technology company focused on developing next-generation autonomous defense platforms. We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Github CI/CD pipelines to accelerate developer velocity and minimize deployment risk.
- Architect and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS) for high availability, scalability, and security.
- Monitor and improve system observability: logging, metrics, alerting, on-call response.
- Collaborate with software and hardware teams to support test infrastructure, simulation environments, and production deployments.
- Lead the implementation of best practices in infrastructure security and cost optimization.
- Establish incident response protocols and support root cause analysis.
- Help shape DevOps processes, tools, and team culture as we scale.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a DevOps, Infrastructure, or SRE role.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms like AWS.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.
- Strong background in scripting (e.g. Python, Bash).
- Solid understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes or ECS).
- Familiarity with system observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, etc.).
- Excellent debugging and incident management skills.
- Comfortable owning large initiatives end-to-end with minimal oversight.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting production systems in a defense, robotics, or hardware-adjacent environment.
- Knowledge of airgapped or secure deployment environments.
- Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g. FedRAMP, NIST 800-171, or CMMC).
- Exposure to embedded systems build pipelines or cross-compilation toolchains.
- Passion for automation, infrastructure design, and enabling engineering teams.
- Experience in infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation).
