DevOps Engineer
About the role
As a DevOps Engineer at Mangomint, you'll find the bottlenecks across our business and use imagination to solve them. The thinking and problem-solving is the job, not the tools. You'll be part of a DevOps team, working together on things that keep engineering moving: CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, automation, and the integrations our teams depend on.
A big part of this role is something we're starting to call "VibeOps". Our non-engineering teams increasingly build their own apps and automations with AI assistance. You'll guide that "vibe-coded" work into production, building in the guardrails that keep it secure, stable, and reliable from the start.
Security runs through all of the work you'll do, in a hands-on, practical way. You'll harden real tools and pipelines as they ship, strengthening our DevSecOps practices across both our core systems and the VibeOps work, in a cross-functional role where you can move fast and directly cut risk.
Responsibilities
- Find and remove bottlenecks across engineering and the wider business, applying DevOps and agile thinking rather than a fixed toolset
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code that get work shipped reliably
- Review, refactor, and harden prototype and AI-generated apps from non-engineering teams into secure, production-grade systems (core VibeOps work)
- Add authentication, tests, dependency and secret scanning, and proper deployment paths to department-built tools before they touch real data
- Strengthen DevSecOps practices: dependency scanning, SAST/DAST, security smell testing, and proactive vulnerability management
- Build and maintain automations and integrations that drive efficiency across Support, Onboarding, Sales, and Engineering
- Design and troubleshoot APIs
- Support compliance requirements and security testing workflows
- Partner closely with non-technical teams to understand what they've built and bring it up to standard
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a DevOps Engineer role
- A demonstrated track record of solving problems holistically — finding the real bottleneck and working the problem, not reaching for a familiar tool
- Genuine fluency in agile and DevOps ways of working, shown through how you've actually operated, not just exposure to them
- A strong sense of agency and learning agility — you take ownership and get up to speed fast
- Proficient with scripting and development languages (Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Kotlin, or Java)
- CI/CD, pipeline, and infrastructure-as-code experience
- Experience with security tooling — dependency scanning, SAST/DAST, vulnerability management
- Strong API design and troubleshooting skills, and comfort partnering with non-technical teams to make what they've built maintainable
Qualifications
- Familiarity with backend/API technologies: Kotlin, Java, TypeScript, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, AWS (Lambda, SQS, RDS, EC2/EB)
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, or other scripting languages for automation)
- Experience with CI/CD & Infrastructure: AWS, pipeline tooling, infrastructure as code (exposure to Terraform or Pulumi is a plus)
- Experience with security & compliance: dependency scanning tools (e.g., Snyk, SonarQube, TruffleHog), SAST/DAST tools, SIEMs, SOC2 frameworks
- Experience with integration & automation: Zapier, Pipedream, AI agent frameworks, and similar workflow tools
