Developmental Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance
Position Summary
The (USA) Developmental Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance, supports facility operations by performing routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs under supervision.
What you'll do
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities, equipment, and fixtures.
- Inspect, clean, and repair facilities and equipment, documenting signs of wear and maintenance activities.
- Utilize multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry to complete minor repairs under supervision.
- Diagnose issues using blueprints, manuals, and parts catalogs; dismantle equipment to access defective parts.
- Operate and inspect heavy machinery and powered equipment following safety procedures and certification requirements.
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls and coordinate vehicle maintenance and transportation as needed.
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and ethical standards while supporting team collaboration.

What you'll bring
- Proven ability to perform routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs across multiple crafts including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
- Experience inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing facilities, equipment, or fixtures using blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
- Proficiency in operating hand tools, power tools, heavy machinery, and material handling equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong documentation skills for maintenance activities, work orders, parts usage, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards.
- Ability to respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Commitment to upholding company policies, ethics, and integrity in all work practices.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and able to pass motor vehicle report.
- Option 1: 1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
- Option 2: 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
- Ability to read and speak the English language as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
- Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
- No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
- No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
- Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
