Developmental Specialist
About the role
The Developmental Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. They work closely with families, caregivers, and other professionals to provide comprehensive support services.
Responsibilities
- Assess and document individual needs and progress
- Develop and implement individualized service plans
- Provide direct support to individuals and their families
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care
- Conduct home visits and community outings as needed
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Special Education, Psychology)
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Qualifications
- Knowledge of developmental disabilities and best practices in support services
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
