The Potomac Center/SETT facility provides quality person-centered support to adults with intellectual disabilities at our campus in Hagerstown, Maryland. Our aim is to partner with the community to help our residents achieve their goals. The Potomac Center is a 62-bed licensed Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) focusing on therapeutic interventions to empower residents as they learn skills needed to successfully return to community living. The Secure Evaluation and Therapeutic Treatment (SETT) Program, located within the Potomac Center campus, is a 32-bed licensed Forensic Residential Center serving individuals with intellectual disabilities and court involvement in a safe and secure environment. The program assists residents in resolving court involvement and transitioning to less secured environments, utilizing active treatment, evaluation, assessment, and competency attainment education.

Responsibilities

• Help each person served meet their personal outcomes.
• Successfully complete all in-service training modules, including classroom instruction, demonstrated competencies, and CNA-related training.
• Ensure full compliance with applicable policies and procedures related to individual care and identified outcomes.
• Provide quality services in areas such as equipment utilization, data collection, personal hygiene, and programming.
• Match newly-acquired skills to enhance growth and development of persons served per their Individualized Plan (IP) goals.
• Discharge all duties and conduct oneself in accordance with relevant regulations, standards, policies, and procedures, including those from the Departments of Budget and Management and Mental Health and Hygiene, Title 17 Code of Maryland Regulations, Office of Health Care Quality, ICF-ID, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, CNA certification/statutory requirements, The Mandt System, and Potomac Center/SETT.

Requirements

• Three years of experience providing direct client services in a developmental disability or similar behavior modification setting.
• Candidates may substitute the completion of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university (with 15 credit hours in health or human services, education, or behavioral sciences) and one year of experience for the required experience.
• Candidates may substitute an Associate of Arts or Bachelor’s degree in a mental health or closely related curriculum (including a supervised clinical practicum in a developmental disability or similar behavior modification setting) for the required experience.
• Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Hospital Corpsman classifications or Health Care Specialist and Medical Services specialty codes in the health-related field on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
• Current certification as a Nursing Assistant from the Maryland State Board of Nursing. Candidates without certification must complete a Board of Nursing-approved training program and receive certification within six months of hire.
• Employees may be required to maintain current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Employees are subject to call-in 24 hours a day and must provide a telephone number where they can be reached.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supervising direct care staff.
• Experience working with the intellectually disabled population in a forensic setting.
