Development Team Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily development operations to ensure consistent, predictable delivery across teams
  • Drive sprint readiness, ensuring work is clearly defined, prioritized, and actionable
  • Coincide closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Lead Developers, Infrastructure/Operations, and Release Management to maintain a healthy development lifecycle
  • Monitor and manage team capacity, workload distribution, and delivery timelines
  • Identify, escalate, and mitigate risks impacting delivery, quality, or timelines
  • Ensure clear visibility into development progress, blockers, and dependencies across teams
  • Promote and enforce process discipline, operational consistency, and Agile best practices
  • Support cross-team dependency management and alignment in multi-team environments
  • Provide clear expectations, constructive feedback, and ongoing coaching to team members
  • Lead onboarding efforts and support continuous skill development across the team
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, psychological safety, and continuous improvement
  • Partner with technical leadership to ensure alignment between execution and architectural direction

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in software development, with a strong background in .NET / Microsoft technology stack
  • Proven experience leading or managing development teams in Agile or hybrid-Agile environments
  • Demonstrated ability to manage day-to-day team coordination, sprint execution, and delivery flow
  • Strong experience in capacity planning, workload management, and delivery forecasting
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working in complex, multi-team environments with cross-functional dependencies
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation
  • Able to balance technical understanding with operational leadership
  • Experience coaching team members and supporting professional growth

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience partnering closely with Release Management, DevOps, and Technical Leads
  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development practices
  • Understanding of environment readiness (UAT, staging, production, infrastructure coordination)
  • Experience improving team processes, delivery flow, and operational efficiency
  • Strong facilitation skills for navigating conflict resolution and cross-team alignment
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira, Jira Align, and Agile reporting tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
