About the role

The Development Project Engineer (Data Center Construction) plays a crucial role in the design, preconstruction, and construction phases of various projects. This position requires strong communication skills and a deep understanding of commercial construction practices.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the development program for sites, including campus design solutions and capital budgets
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, designers, engineers, and vendors to ensure project success
  • Manage project budgets and schedules, ensuring timely completion
  • Interface with security teams to establish and maintain construction security procedures
  • Represent QTS interests in Open Access Committee (OAC) meetings
  • Support due diligence efforts for potential or new land banks and properties
  • Participate in real estate efforts to enhance QTS's leadership in data center real estate

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management field or equivalent professional experience
  • One or more years of professional experience in commercial construction practices and procedures
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management field or equivalent professional experience
  • One or more years of professional experience in commercial construction practices and procedures
  • Experience or exposure in mission critical data center facilities
  • Experience with management of MEP trades
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
