Development Officer

About the role

The Development Officer secures mid-level gifts ($5,000–$49,999) for Henry Ford Health System by building and maintaining relationships with grateful patients and volunteers. Key objectives include increasing donor retention, increasing revenue per donor, and proactively moving qualified donors to the major gift level ($50,000 commitments and above) more quickly than a donor would on their own.

The Development Officer works closely with Development Office staff, department/program leadership, physicians, and donor advisors to identify prospects and develop solicitation strategies for mid-level donors and prospects.

Responsibilities

• Secure mid-level gifts ($5,000–$49,999) through relationship-building with grateful patients and volunteers.
• Increase donor retention and revenue per donor.
• Proactively move qualified donors to the major gift level ($50,000+ commitments).
• Identify prospects and develop solicitation strategies in collaboration with Development Office staff, leadership, physicians, and donor advisors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum of five years of experience in fundraising or a related field.
