Fundraise for Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) by building and strengthening donor relationships and connecting passions and interests to funding opportunities with individual, corporate, and foundation donors in the $7,500+ annual gift category.

Pay, Schedule & Benefits

The anticipated starting pay range is $88,700 - $95,000.

This is a full-time, exempt (salaried) position. Typical work schedule is Monday–Friday during daytime business hours. Occasional nights and weekends may be required. Approximately 25–30% all-expenses-paid domestic/international travel is required.

Responsibilities

  • Meaningfully engage with current and prospective donors
  • Foster and strengthen relationships to inspire donors to become more invested in feeding kids
  • Qualify a caseload of donors by assessing their interests, passions, and capacity for increased giving and involvement
  • Analyze donor giving, involvement, and potential for upgrading
  • Create and execute individualized donor plans tailored to passions, motivations, giving patterns, and preferences
  • Engage new donors through networking and relationship-building
  • Stay informed on FMSC’s operations, initiatives, products, and impact; gather internal stories and news; use this information to prepare tailored invitations and “asks”
  • Write tailored funding and partnership proposals; research funding requirements and submit compelling requests
  • Make 50+ high-touch weekly contacts via phone, email, handwritten notes, and in-person meetings to solicit engagement, express gratitude, and offer prayer
  • Maintain accurate donor and prospect information in the donor database
  • Collaborate on strategic fundraising initiatives, such as special event sponsorships
  • Share donor relations successes and best practices with peers
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Commitment to support, promote, and authentically communicate FMSC’s Christian mission and goals
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in development or high-volume sales (relevant work experience may substitute for degree)
  • Experience meeting sales or fundraising goals, increasing donor or client engagement, and making the “ask” and “close”
  • Experience building strong in-person and phone donor or client relationships
  • Self-directed with high energy, motivation, and independence; able to work with limited direct supervision
  • Able to accept challenges or projects and carry them through to completion with tenacity
  • Exceptional storytelling and public speaking skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of detail, accuracy, and follow-through
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with donor or sales databases preferred

About the Team

Work location is Tempe, AZ. This position offers a flexible/hybrid work schedule that allows for both office and remote work. Reports to the Development Manager.
