About the role
The Development & Events Specialist plays a pivotal role in Far Hills Country Day School's community-building and fundraising efforts, managing a diverse calendar of events and supporting advancement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute a diverse calendar of school events, including annual galas, alumni reunions, Parents’ Committee gatherings, and donor appreciation events.
- Manage event logistics, including vendor relationships, catering, rentals, invitations, RSVP tracking, and on-site setup/breakdown.
- Serve as a primary, welcoming point of contact for event attendees, volunteers, and committees, ensuring an exceptional experience that reflects the school’s values.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date constituent and event records in Blackbaud (Raiser’s Edge).
- Process event registrations, track donor gifts, and generate analytical reports to measure event ROI and attendance trends.
- Aid in digital fundraising initiatives and giving days, utilizing modern giving platforms.
Qualifications
- Systems Proficiency: Direct, hands-on experience with Blackbaud (Raiser’s Edge) or a highly similar advancement database.
- Detail-Oriented: Exceptional organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple event timelines simultaneously without letting small details slip through the cracks.
- Persuasive Personality: Outgoing, energetic, and highly relational. Comfortable engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders, including parents, Board members, faculty, and alumni.
- Work Ethic: Proactive, "roll-up-your-sleeves" mindset with the flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for event execution.
- Prior Experience: 2–5 years of experience in event planning, hospitality, or non-profit/independent school advancement.

$50,000–$60,000
Schedule
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
