Lead Development Engineering

• Evaluating feasibility, identifying manufacturing strategy, estimating costs, and creating proposals for business opportunities.
• Serving as a support for project engineering in AQP process for awarded business.
• Tool Project Costs & timing and Piece Price Estimating for new or transfer molds, prototypes, engineering changes, and tool refurbs.
• Evaluating customer specifications for manufacturability & feasibility.
• Evaluating mold filling simulations for cycle time estimates and manufacturing / feasibility issues.
• Creating preliminary layouts of tool concepts for feasibility, timing, and estimated costs based on engineering representation.
• Attending AQP 1 & 6 meetings.
• Participating in IQMS quote process, quote worksheet feasibility review, and providing technical recommendations and expertise on raw material selection & processing.
• Proficiency in CAD software to create layouts and make part design changes.
• Ability to read blueprints, GD&T, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Effective communication skills with customers.
• Mathematical knowledge to perform calculations for volumes, weights, and dimensions accurately.
• Understanding of raw material properties and their suitability to meet product design requirements.
• Understanding of tool and plastics manufacturing methods and cost drivers.
