Development Coordinator

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Development Coordinator with a strong interest in commercial real estate development. This position supports our team through organization, tracking, research, documentation, and coordination efforts while providing firsthand exposure to the full development lifecycle. You’ll gain insight into how successful developments come together and how high-performing teams collaborate. This role is ideal for someone curious, eager to learn, and excited to contribute meaningfully to development projects.

This hands-on position offers exposure across multiple phases of the development process, including project coordination, due diligence, design, construction administration, and project tracking. Responsibilities
- Assist with project coordination and administrative support across various phases of the commercial real estate development process.
- Conduct research and assist with site due diligence, zoning, and code research.
- Prepare preliminary code-compliant site plans with applicable code requirements.
- Prepare project-related tracking spreadsheets and preliminary due diligence reports.
- Organize and maintain project files, vendor contracts, and project documentation.
- Create and maintain project tracking tools for deliverables and key milestones.
- Assist in preparation of RFP packages and Invitation to Bid supporting materials.
- Participate in project meetings with consultants (engineers, architects, general contractors) and project teams to support coordination, document meeting notes, action items, and next steps.
- Assist with utility coordination efforts, including exposure to coordination activities, utility provider communication, and project documentation tracking.
- Support signage coordination activities to gain familiarity with the process, stakeholders, and related requirements.
- Organize, maintain, and review construction-related documentation, including RFIs, change orders, CMT reports, daily reports, and pay applications.
- Assist in project site visits and document observations, construction progress, and site-related updates.
- Assist with project closeout activities, including punchlist documentation, tracking outstanding items, and compiling closeout information.
- Gather and organize documentation necessary for tenant turnover and delivery of possession.
- Support project teams through organization, communication, coordination, and follow-through across development projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong time management skills with high attention to detail and follow-through
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable handling multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish trust and build lasting relationships across internal and external stakeholders
- A practical, grounded mindset—focused on execution over theory
- Experience with GIS and Bluebeam is preferred
- Flexibility to travel within the Southeastern US as needed to support project coordination and site visits
